Konan University is active in promoting and supporting
international exchange for students. Part of this lies in an
exchange program involving twelve universities in eight countries
throughout the world. There are two programs from which each
student may choose according to his or her purpose: the Overseas
Language Study Course is a short-term course where students
spend a summer month abroad, and the Study Abroad Program allows
students to study abroad for a year. The universities that comprise
Konan's exchange program are situated in English, French and
German-speaking countries, where you can make full use of and
also develop what you are majoring in at Konan University. This
foreign exchange program not only enhances language ability,
but also allows students to experience different cultures and
values system and, as a result, become more globalized human
beings before graduating. |
Furthermore, Konan University has an active exchange
program where students from other countries can study the Japanese
language in Japan. It is common to see many foreign students
communicating with Konan University students on campus. In fact,
it is no exaggeration to say that the Konan University campus
has a truly international atmosphere and students can meet students
from other cultures without leaving Japan.
The nucleus of this sort of international exchange is the International
Exchange Center. This Center is active in helping students select
which country and university to go to and which classes to take.
It offers advice regarding the formalities of the stay, lends
out newspapers and books in English, and sets up events with
foreign exchange students studying at Konan University.
