The Konan Graduate School of Accountancy was founded in April, 2006. It offers a 2-year (4-semester) full-time residency Master of Science degree program accredited by both Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and The Japanese Association of Graduate Schools of Accountancy.
The program is designed for accounting students and professionals who have completed an undergraduate degree and who seek to enhance their technical and professional skills through completion of an advanced degree in accounting. Prospective students who have not earned a bachelor's degree in accounting, but who have successfully completed substantial accounting coursework beyond the introductory level, may apply to the program.
Mission in Brief
The program leading to an MS with a major in accounting provides students with the knowledge and skills initially needed for entry into careers as professional accountants. There is special emphasis on the use of technology and developing students' technological expertise. The program also provides graduates with the skills and knowledge that are indispensable for business and leadership positions in organizations of the 21st century.
The mission of the Konan Graduate School of Accountancy is to maintain a leadership role in professional accounting education in Japan. The school provides service to the community, to the accounting profession, to business and industry, and to the university itself.
The primary research mission of the school is to be a national and international leader in the discovery and advancement of knowledge through scholarship by engaging in basic and applied research.

Our program integrates conventional accounting and business disciplines and recognizes the importance of both theory and practice. The curriculum emphasizes skills and values essential to successful leadership: ethics, communication, teamwork, a global viewpoint, use of technology, and problem recognition and solving. A variety of educational methods are utilized in the classroom to facilitate learning.
International Residency (Study Abroad) Program (under planning)
The International Residency (study abroad) Program is a two-week program offered
by the Konan School of Accountancy to 2nd year students each year in early September.
It is a non-degree program aiming to strengthen students' global perspectives
and oral communication competency.
