The department aims to foster engineers who are fully trained
to take leading roles in the emerging information age. The
fields of study offered include systems analysis, human interface,
intelligent information processing, and management information
processing, all taught upon a solid theoretical foundation
in mathematical and computer sciences.
In addition to lectures in regular classrooms,
the department stresses the importance of classes held in
laboratories. These lab classes are typically small in size,
allowing students to intensively acquire the practical knowledge
and skills of information technology.
In this way, students are prepared to engage
in information technologies applied in industries. The acquisition
of certified qualifications for educators or those for information
engineers are also encouraged.
Further education and research opportunities
are offered in the graduate school, which offers programs
leading to both Master's degrees and Doctorates.
