Research Interest

My primary research interest is in the areas of
  • information retrieval,
  • natural language processing,
  • machine learning, and
  • their applications to real-world problems to develop intelligent information processing/management systems.
My current research projects include neural network-based cross-lingual text analytics, exploratory biomedical IR, and textual time series (e.g., tweets and online news articles) analysis for forecasting and nowcasting economic indices using big data.
