On Sunday, October 19, 2025, the Konan University International Students Alumni Reunion was held in the Global Zone on the 1st floor of Building No.2 at the Okamoto Campus in conjunction with the All Konan Gathering. Former international students who studied at Konan University from overseas partner institutions gathered for a joyful reunion, sharing cherished memories and enjoying a warm and vibrant atmosphere of international exchange.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Konan-Illinois Program, which is now known as the Year-in-Japan (YiJ) Program, this special gathering was organized to create an opportunity for alumni to reconnect. The event also welcomed former exchange students from Asian countries.

The event began with opening remarks from Professor Kyoko Matsukawa (Department of Sociology, Faculty of Letters), Director of the Konan International Exchange Center, followed by greetings from Teaching Professor  Stephen Luft (University of Pittsburgh), the Center's Vice Director and Resident Director. Following their greetings, Mr. Michael Blyth, British Consul-General and YiJ participant(2002-2003) delivered a special speech reflecting on his time at Konan University.

The reunion was filled with joyful moments including a graceful hula performance by Konan University's student group " Pikake", an exciting bingo game and heartfelt conversations during the gathering. Participants shared their happiness, saying 「I would love to meet again」 and 「This amazing opportunity  brought back so many wonderful memories of my time at Konan University」. 

Konan University will continue to cherish the connections among alumni with study abroad experiences and expand our global network of international students.
