Year-in-Japan Program Students Visited Hiroshima and Miyajima for a Japanese Language Study Trip
From March 5 (Thursday) to March 6 (Friday), 2026, 37 students from partner universities in Europe and North America participating in the Year-in-Japan Program joined a Japanese language study trip to Hiroshima and Miyajima.
On March 5, the students visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum in the morning. In the afternoon, they explored Hiroshima City and its surrounding areas, guided by students from Yasuda Women’s University.
On March 6, they visited Miyajima and toured Itsukushima Shrine, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The group picture below was taken in front of its famous “floating” torii gate.
While the participants seriously studied Japanese history and culture, they also enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Miyajima, as well as interacting with students from Hiroshima.
