Study abroad experience will be the most precious memories of your life!

I have loved Japanese animation since I was young, and through this I have also become familiar with many aspects of Japanese traditional culture and customs. When I found out that Tunghai University and Konan University are sister schools and offer a six-month exchange program, I decided to participate this without hesitation.
Despite having studied Japanese for a while and having passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test at N2 level, I realized when I arrived in Japan and started my studies that my Japanese was really poor. I couldn't even hold a normal conversation or express my thoughts when I went to shopping. However, I was fortunate to have the support of the teachers and staffs at the Konan International Exchange Center and the students at Konan University, who were always willing to help me and teach me how to handle and solve problems.
Although I wasn't very used to Japanese life at first, the teachers and staffs at the Konan International Exchange Center and the Hyogo International House provided many activities such as welcome parties and language exchanges to help us adapt to Japanese life. These activities also helped me to improve my Japanese speaking skills. Although I still struggle with Japanese (in terms of listening, speaking, reading and writing), I believe that my Japanese skills will improve with everyone's support and encouragement and will become better and better!
I am currently studying Japanese literature at the Konan University. Having originally specialized in Chinese literature, I am now able to observe the differences and characteristics of Chinese and Japanese literature from a different perspective when reading and learning about Japanese literature!
Although studying abroad was difficult, I am still glad that I decided to participate in this study abroad program at Konan. I would like to encourage everyone to give themselves a chance to study abroad. I believe that the ups and downs you experience on your travels, whether they are happy or sad, will be the most precious memories of your life.
