Konan University established the Center for Global Education to help create an inclusive campus where students from diverse cultural backgrounds learn together, deepen their understanding of one another’s differences, and create new values. Working in collaboration with partners both within and beyond the university, the center focuses on two main tasks: providing comprehensive support for degree-seeking international students and others and promoting multicultural co-learning among Japanese and international students.

The center ensures continuous support tailored to the needs of each international student, from student recruitment and admissions to academic study, campus life, career development, and connections after graduation. Through regular individual meetings, the provision of practical information for daily life, and career and employment support, the center helps international students enjoy a safe and fulfilling university experience and confidently pursue their future goals.

The center also offers opportunities for Japanese and international students to learn from one another and make the most of their cultural diversity through both curricular and extracurricular activities. By encountering diverse perspectives, developing mutual understanding and acceptance, and reflecting on their own values, students cultivate an international outlook as well as global and glocal awareness. The Center for Global Education fosters a learning environment in which students connect and grow together across national and cultural boundaries, supporting the development of individuals who can contribute both globally and within their local communities.
